Mikaela's Diary Entry

Week 1 30th May
Our group formed on the discussion board early in the week. We quickly introduced ourselves, answering a variety of questions via email that Sarah organised. Sarah and myself had a casual meeting via text messages. I brought up the idea of making a Facebook group, for quick responses between team members.
Completed
Week 2 6th June
Week 2 was a quieter week for our group. We all shared which software collaboration we would be evaluating. I decided to evaluate Asana. We started to discuss ideas for our assignment two/three.
Completed
Week 3 13th June
I wrote a post on our Facebook page that we should have a meeting soon regarding the project plan. Our team leader Sarah had mentioned to me last week that we should do a live online collaboration with the whole group for the Project Plan. I decided to bring this up on Facebook so that we could really get started on the assignment and start putting our heads together as a team to come up with an idea.
Completed
Week 4 20th June
This week we had two meetings for the assignment 2 Project Plan. One on Monday night and one on Thursday night. I nominated myself to be the minute keeper, and did so for both meetings this week. I shared the minutes on Google Docs and Facebook for those that could not attend to read over. I also spent time this week going through my nominated reading on Network Economies- The Impact of Mobile Connectivity and Big Data on the Network Economy. We have decided to share a summary with our group for each of our nominated readings on Google Docs.
Completed
Week 5 27th June
With assignment 2 due this Friday, we decided it would be best to have a meeting on Monday night to go over our project plan, ensuring we were all on the same page. We thoroughly went through the plan as a team, with Sarah using our ideas from previous meetings to make it all come together. I continued on with the readings for sharing and attention economies, and shared these with the team on Google Docs.
Completed
Week 6 4th July
This week I began researching and creating a draft on the Network and Attention economies for assignment three, going through the readings that were provided by Skye on the group discussion board, as well as externally researched articles.
Completed
Week 7 11th July
I completed all of my outstanding tasks this week – I put my content on Google Docs, which included a summary of the network economy, attention economy, and a timetable of Uber’s growth. Sarah and I had a meeting- I am to be away for the whole of next week in the lead up to the assignment being due. We discussed what still needed to be done to make the assignment come together. I also informed Sarah of the tasks I had completed.
Completed
Week 8 18th July
This week I have been away. I completed my work before going away as to not put the team behind.
Completed
Week 9 &10 25th & 1st July
One of our group members has left the unit, and we have been given an extension. Sarah set up on Google Docs the remaining tasks, which were divided up between the group. I assisted where needed with the outstanding tasks, and any other areas where the group needed help.
Completed
Hanan's Diary Entry

Week 1 30th May
First week was a bit of a challenge trying to ascertain how to form the groups and communicate with one another as well as negotiate the course format and instructions. Communications between team members got off to a good start we mainly used email at this stage (on my part)
Completed
Week 2 6th June
In week two I started to negotiate my way around the wiki and tried to ascertain which platform I was interested in researching. I found the whole process of posting on Blackboard, communicating with the team, as well as researching and trying to get a handle on the requirements a bit of a challenge. The team leaders and all members were very supportive and helpful.
Completed
Week 3 13th June
In week three my main focus was on trying to research and understand my platform Wiggio. Sarah and Mikela were working on meetings and I kept abreast through the facebook group regarding the upcoming team project. I also communicated with the team via email and messenger as I was finding everything a bit confusing.
Completed
Week 4 20th June
In week four I chose to summarise
Network Economy

This week there were two allocated meetings for the assignment 2 Project Plan.
Completed
Week 5 27th June
In week five I contacted Skye as I was feeling that so far my grasp of the subject matter was not where I wanted it to be and I was getting side tracked. I also had to redo assignment Number one because I had misunderstood the instructions. And I continued reading and summarising my chosen articles as well as preparing some preliminary research into the Uber platform.
My readings were
Review for Attention Economy
Terranova, T. (2012). Attention, the economy, and the brain. Culture Machine, 13, 1–19.

Review for Sharing Economy
Belk, R. (2014). You are what you can access: Sharing and collaborative consumption online. Journal of Business Research, 67(8), 1595–1600.
Completed
Week 6 4th July
After the feedback from skye I started seriously researching how our Chosen Platform (Uber) tied into the course material and I prepared some slides as an overview of the history and what the Business was about.
I also wrote some pointers for the group on how to progress and what we could research and posted in on Google docs and a link on the Facebook page.
Completed
Week 7 11th July
This week I completed as much initial research as i could because I was due to travel for 10 days and was not sure how much time or Internet facilities would be available to me.
So I posted all my research for the team to peruse I included feedback from our tutour and hoped for the best.
So I had all the slides on the history of Uber and the overview of the company on fb and google docs
As well as situating this online platform within the three sharing economies of which I chose the sharing economy, and Uber as a global business. As well as some background information.
Completed
Week 8 18th July
Early in the week I contacted the team to let Sarah know I would be away from 22nd of july till the 31st of August. I did as much as I could before leaving.

David's Diary Entry

Week 1 30th May
First week was a bit of a challenge trying to ascertain how to form the groups and communicate with one another as well as negotiate the course format and instructions. Communications between team members got off to a good start we mainly used email at this stage (on my part). The team agrees to a Facebook book to keep track of updates and Sarah assigns admin roles to all. She also develops a project plan and group document to distribute tasks.
Completed
Week 2 6th June
Wikidot is totally new to me and as first glimpse I feel it’s as close to HTML coding as I’d like to get. Fortunately, the blackboard provides a lot of support information and by the end of this week I’m better familiarised with the system. I choose Yammer, a private social media program built by Microsoft. Yammer is very similar to Facebook and I’m familiar with it as I proposed it for a project when I worked for Metro Trains, Melbourne. I send my assignment through Turnitin and hope for the best.
Completed
Week 3 13th June
The team sets up its first collaboration meeting via Skype in order to develop a task list and assign to members. The discussion goes well with Sarah, Mikaela and me able to make it. Mikaela is kind enough to take minutes of the meeting for members unable to attend. This week I begin my readings on the sharing economy. I listen to the ‘Against the Grain’ podcast for its references to workers and the impact Internet commerce will have on all sectors of the business world. I also read Goldhaber’s ‘The Attention Economy on the Net’.
Completed
Week 4 20th June
at our weekly meeting, the team discussed the presentation mode we wish to use. As most of the team are on gmail I proposed blogger, although Wordpress may be a more viable option. Sarah posts our project plan and supporting documents which are of real help.
Completed
Week 5 27th June
I read through Hanan’s readings on the network economy. Sarah continues to be a star performer and proposes our project which maps out the schedule of tasks. The team confirms which readings from the Sharing, Networking and Attention Economy we will each take. A meeting is scheduled for 30 June where we discuss the project plan and assign tasks.
Completed
Week 6 4th July
With our project plan the team gathers to start to put together the final report. Hanan produces some amazing infographics and we’re on our way. We pass a meeting for this week instead concentrating on our assignments.
Completed
Week 7 11th July
Some concerns around grades from the assembled. The group meets to discuss the grade and consensus is we did well considering the word count which proved a little restrictive.
Completed
Week 8 18th July
Working through assignment.
Completed
Week 9 25th July
Tim unfortunately has to leave the group so we press on with a week’s extension.
Completed
Week 10 1st July
Team presses on with assignment with extension.
Completed
